I'm not just a massage therapist.
I'm also a musician and a student of biology.
As a musician, I have been an accompanist and a composer. These days, however, I've taken to playing the complete works of various composers: Beethoven, Chopin, and Bach, among others. I'm still doing some composition work, so far they have featured the piano alone, however, due to positive received feedback from old musical colleagues, I may resume compositions on other interesting instruments.
I am a pianist, composer, and arranger. With the assistance of Myles Skinner, I also co-direct the Blah New Music Ensemble, a group dedicated to the exploration of new music through improvisations. We've recently launched a YouTube Channel in order to showcase our improvisations and compositions.
My brother is an opera singer, consequently my mother loves opera. Recently, I've been taking her to an opera appreciation class given by David Stanley-Porter. His class previews what the Canadian Opera Company (COC) will be performing each year. One of the services that Metropolitan Opera provides is a rebroadcast in HD at local movie theatres. For those interested in opera, please see this link.
I am always willing to try new things, musically. If you have any musical suggestions, please contact me or leave a comment on the YouTube page.
I've also been a student of biology at Western University. I started taking classes in 2008 in efforts to become an Environmental Scientist. Recent events in my family life have put those plans on hold, but the desire to learn about the world around us is still burning within me.
